The company approached its twentieth anniversary, and in a new stage, invested in the quality and diversification of its production. To do this it built factories for carbon disulfide, viscose flakes, soda and by-products, sulfuric acid, viscous thread for tires, and linter cellulose.

The accelerated pace of growth pushed the company to completely renovate the São Miguel thermoelectric plant (the so called "power house").
